safe boating and sailing education for the general public. Its dedicated

SUP Boot Camp with Nikki Gregg!
Hawaii based fitness professional, stand up paddler, and owner of NRG Lifestyle Fitness Training is bringing her aloha spirit and exclusive stand up paddle boot camp to Westwind Sailing & Paddling in Dana Point.
This two-day comprehensive fitness program will provide in-depth professional instruction on how to improve paddling technique as well as assistance with balance, agility, and speed. Nikki’s SUP boot camps are for everyone, from novice paddlers to professional athletes. Take advantage of this special opportunity to find out why stand up paddling is a great way to cross-train and get into the best shape of your life.
When: July 17-18, 2010 8am-11am
Where: OC Sailing and Events Center, Dana Point Harbor
We’ve developed this program to provide sail therapy and to teach safe boating and sailing to individuals with special needs.
Learning to command a vessel is very empowering for people with developmental or physical challenges. We employ adapted kinesiology specialists and certified sailing instructors to ensure that challenged students find ways to succeed and overcome the obstacles involved in learning to sail safely.
Pre – Registration required
FEE: $35.00 AGES: 8 yrs. and up some scholarships available
Each clinic requires separate registration. Clinics are held on Sundays from 9:30 - 11 am. Summer Clinic Dates: May 23, June 13, June 27, July 11, July 25, Aug 8, Aug 22, Sept 12.

Scholarships Available!
Part of the mission of the California Department of Boating and Waterways is to provide safe and convenient public access to California's waterways. To help fulfill this mission, the Department created the Aquatic Center Grant Program which makes grants available for non-profit organizations in California that offer on-the-water training to enhance basic boating safety education.
Friends of Westwind Sailing has been awarded funding through the Aquatic Center Grant Program and has created boating scholarships for selected Westwind Sailing programs.
Summer scholarship programs include: Mini Mates Day Camp, Jr. Sailors Sabot Camp 1, Jr. Sailors Day Camp 1, and Adaptive Sailing Clinics.

Cost: SUP: $25 hr., $35 1.5 hr., $40 2 hr. Kayak (single or double): $20 hr., $30 1.5 hr.

Stand Up Paddle Fitness
Ages: 14 yr. and up
Cost: $15 + $5 per session or $135 + $50 for a 10 session pass card
• Tues. & Thurs: 8:30-9:45 am.
• Wed. & Fri: 6:30-7:45 am.
Stand Up Paddle Club
Ages: 14 yrs. and up
Cost: $40 club registration fee. (June - Sept) + $20 fee per activity.
• Sat and Sun: 10 am - 12 noon

Jr/Teen Sailing Club
Ages: 10 - 17 yrs.
Cost: $40 club registration fee (June - Sept.) + fees per activity
